The 14th Annual West Virginia FILMmakers Festival was held in Sutton, West Virginia’s Elk Theatre Oct. 4-6.

The award-winning films for this year included:

Best Short Film, “Miracle Boy”, Based on the Short Story by Pinckney Benedict. Jason Brown, Producer; Jake Mahaffy, Director. (WV Filmmaker).

Best Student Short Film, “Thyme”, Max Lincoln, Director.

Best Short Documentary, “Going Dark: The Final Days of Film Projection”, Jason Gwynn & Jay Sheldon, Producers.

Best Feature Documentary, “Where’s the Fair?
 Brad Bear”, Producer/Editor; Jeffrey Ford, Writer/Director.

Best Animation, “Oh Willy…” , Ben Tesseur and Nidia Santiago, Producers.

Best Feature Film, “Ladybeard”, Jason Brown & Brandon Millman, Producers, David Smith, Director; (WV Filmmakers) and WV FILMmaker of the Year, John Nakashima. Senior Producer/Director, West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

The 15th Annual WVFF will be held Oct. 3, 4, 5, 2015. Call for Films will take place in late Spring 2015.
