Synopsis

Horton Foote’s two One Act plays, A Young Lady of Property and Land of the Astronauts, focus on the lives of the citizens of Harrison, Texas who find themselves at a crossroads: should they surrender to fate and carry on as they have or strive for new, better dreams to guide them into a hopefully happier future. Foote’s knack for bringing his small hometown characters to life with gentle humor and knowing insight has delighted audiences and impressed critics for decades and has come to be regarded as one of the preeminent playwrights of the United States.
